Indian Rugs




The Market of Indian rugs is not the most opened and not the one, which have an exact statistics, however according to some sources of information, in 1998 Indian rugs were exported on the sum of 500 millions of dollars. Generally, the manufacturing of Indian rugs is export-oriented.

The main centers of Indian rugs’ production are Srinaghar, Jaipur, Agra, Budohi, Amristar, Mirzapur, Allora and other.

Many Indian rugs are made in a Persian style, and they are called according to these styles. For example, rugs may bear a name of “Indo-Isfahan” – it means that these are Indian rugs made in the style of Isfahan.



Of course, Indian rugs made as copies of Persian rugs, are inferior to the original rugs and are lower estimated. But still they present us the warmth and coziness of Asian country and make our décor more pleasant and comfortable.Persian rugs
